Baby girl born with massive adult-sized tongue smiles for first time after life-changing surgery (photos)

A toddler, Paisley Morrison-Johnson, who suffered from a rare condition which made her tongue to grow more than twice the size of her mouth has had a surgical procedure to correct the condition, and for the first time smiled after the surgery.

The condition was so bad that even after surgeons cut away some part of the tongue, it still grew back and covered her mouth.

Doctors diagnosed Paisley as being born with Beckwith Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS) – an overgrowth disorder that affects one in every 11,000 births worldwide.

Because of Little Paisley's bad condition, she needed a breathing apparatus for the first week of her life to stop her from choking to death. and ad to be fed with a gastronomy-tube until she was six-months-old - because she couldn't eat normally and needed vital nutrients to keep her alive.

Her parents Madison Kienow, 21, and Shannon Morrison-Johnson, 23, from Aberdeen in South Dakota, USA, paid for her second tongue reduction surgery which had more than six inches of muscle removed after hoping in vain that their daughter's mouth would grow to accommodate her overgrown tongue .

Sometime in the early hours of October 8th, 2016 men of the  Directorate of State Security (DSS) carried out Gestapo like invasions on the homes of a number of Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria  and the Federal High Court.

The affected Justices of the Supreme Court were, Sylvanus Ngwuta and  Inyang Okoro. The affected Judges of the Federal High Court were Muazu  Pindiga, Adeniyi Ademola, Abdullahi Liman and Nnamdi Dimgba.

At this time, Justices Ngwuta and Okoro of the Supreme Court and  Justices Adeniyi & Pindiga had been abducted and detained. Justice  Dimgba only escaped abduction because he was not at home at the time. Justice Abdullahi’s abduction was prevented by the timely intervention  of Governor Nyesom Wike, who insisted on the observance of the rule of  law and the application of due process.

Governor Nyesome Wike was assaulted by the men of the DSS during his  intervention causing him to sustain injuries on his arm. At a point, an officer pointed a fully cocked gun at him and threatened to shoot  him.

Zimbabwean lawmaker is refused entry into Parliament because of his colourful suit (photos)

Zimbabwean member of parliament, Trevor JI Saruwaka was denied entry into his work place because his outfit supposedly flouted house rules. The lawmaker turned up to work dressed in a multicolour suit after the colours of the national flag. There's more to the story however. In recent times, anti-government members in politics, media and the mass populace have adopted the #ThisFlag campaign as a form of protest against president Mugabe's party, Zanu-PF which has ruled the country for decades.

The government hit back by reviving legislation that makes it a crime to "abuse" the national flag.

As lawyers have pointed out, it's been left up to the government to define what constitutes abuse. Higher Education Minister Jonathan Moyo said in a tweet that Saruwaka being denied entry "was for being inappropriately dressed. Even bush lawyers & fools know that Parliament has a dress code. It's in the standing orders!"

School employee fired after racist Facebook post about Michelle Obama

Officials of a Georgia school district has fired one of its employees after the employee, Jane Allen, described the US first lady Michelle Obama as a gorilla on Facebook last week. Forsyth County Schools said in a statement that elementary school paraprofessional Jane Wood Allen was fired Monday. The statement reads in part:

“Racism and discrimination are not tolerated” in the school district.

District spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo confirmed Monday that the decision to fire Allen was made after officials learned of the Facebook racist posting where Allen referred to the first lady as a gorilla.

Allen wrote on her Facebook page:

“This poor Gorilla. How is she going to function in the real world, by not having all of her luxurious vacations paid for anymore? She needs to focus on getting total make-over (especially the hair), instead of planning vacations! She is a disgrace to America!”

Allen's Facebook page has since being deactivated.

Edo Election: Ize-Iyamu contested against INEC – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the Edo State governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu contested against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), not the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the APC victory in the election as “victory only made possible by the use of federal government agencies to subvert the will of the people.”

Governor Fayose, who lamented that the win at all cost attitude of the APC was inimical to the sustenance of democracy in the country, said it was sad that instead of the people of Edo State electing their own governor, the APC conspired with INEC to foist its own governor on the people.

Man insists he is the biological son of former President Bill Clinton

Rumors that Bill Clinton once fathered a child with a prostitute have reemerged, as the now 30-year-old man is trying to have the former president recognize him as his son. The man, Danney Williams started a Facebook page in December, under the new name Danney Williams-Clinton, with the intention of getting the Clintons' attention.

The claim was initially made in the late 1990s by Williams' mother and in 1999, a DNA test reportedly conducted by Star magazine said that Danney couldn't be Clinton's son but the result of the test wasn't really clear.

Mother of 2 and business entrepreneur Kim Kardashian suffered a huge scare last night when she was attacked by 2 armed men wearing masks as she relaxed on her bed wearing just a robe. The mother of 2 said she feared she would be raped when she saw the 2 men approach her.
According to TMZ reports:

Kim Kardashian was ordered out of bed by masked men she initially thought were going to rape her.
Our sources say ... Kim was lying in bed with only her robe on when she heard boots pounding up the stairs of her 2 story apartment.
We're told Kim saw at least one masked man and another wearing a police hat through a sliding glass door. She knew something was amiss, so she rolled off the bed and tried dialing her bodyguard on her cell phone.
Before she could finish dialing one of the men yanked the phone out of her hands. They zip tied her hands with plastic handcuffs and duct taped her to make it more secure. We're told one of the men grabbed her by the ankles ... Kim told cops at that point she believed she was about to be raped.
The robbers duct taped her ankles, picked her up and put her in the bathtub. She then started screaming ... begging them not to kill her because she had babies. She went on to say she had money and they could take whatever they wanted. Kim told cops the robbers did not know English and only spoke French. The only thing she understood ... the men kept saying, "ring, ring." Kim knew what they were after -- the new ring she got from Kanye. She told them where it was in the apartment, but that was not the end.

Photos: Drug trafficker tricks innocent passenger into carrying box of Indomie noodles with drugs at Enugu Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a man who used packs of chicken flavoured noodles to smuggle cannabis through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA) in Enugu State on a China bound plane.

According to the NDLEA spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the cannabis was carefully prepared inside packs of noodles to avoid detection. The suspect identified as Benson Onyechi Esonwunne, was attempting to board an Ethiopian Airways flight from Nigeria to China when he convinced an innocent passenger to carry the box of packaged chicken flavored noodles for him on the plane.
"It is instructive that people be aware of this trick because what they consider as an assistance may just send them to prison or early graves. This is because drug trafficking is punishable by death in China." Mr Ofoyeju said.
The statement from NDLEA also said that Mr. Esonwunne had been deported from China two times prior for immigration offenses in 2008 and on May of this year. The suspect said that he began trafficking drugs because Nigeria’s economy was so poor, and its exchange rate so unfavorable, that he needed to turn to the illegal activity to get by.

The NDLEA said the man will face charges for his crime.

World Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury tests positive for cocaine

The Gypsie King as he is fondly called by fans- Tyson Fury, the reigning WBA, WBO, IBO, Ring magazine, and lineal heavyweight champion has tested positive for cocaine according to reports, weeks after pulling out from his heavyweight title defence with Klitschko citing mental issues.

Fury, was said to have been informed on Thursday night that his A sample from a random urine test on 22 September had tested positive for the substance benzoylecgonine, the central compound found in cocaine. 

The Manchester born boxer who claims to be born again is set to lose his titles won in 2015. The presence of cocaine in his blood samples brings an all time low to Fury's career and could even bring about litigations and lawsuits against him and his camp.

Klitschko, who was supposed to have fought him since, has been made to wait for almost a year to regain his lost belts and with this new revelation could fight someone else for the WBO, WBA and IBO world titles..
