Arsenal and Leicester are chasing top defender

Arsenal are chasing Monaco’s  Marcel Tisserand .Leicester have joined the race.The player had been on the verge of a move to Espanyol. According to the Daily Mirror, Claudio Ranieri is set to rival Arsene Wenger for the signing of highly-rated defender.

 Previously we reported that Arsene Wenger would look to strengthen his backline this summer with the signing of Valencia and Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi. However, the club rejected to sell the player: “Mustafi is not for sale and will not be leaving the club.” Daily Mirror reports that  Monaco’s versatile defender Marcel Tisserand has emerged as the latest transfer target for Arsenal at the back. The source notes that the player had been on the verge of a move to Espanyol after struggling to hold down a regular place at the Ligue 1 club.

However, according to the source, the EPL champions have also launched an enquiry regarding the availability of Tisserand, who can operate at both centre-back and also right-back. Meanwhile, La Liga outfit Espanyol are still want to sign the 23-year-old.
