Premier League kick starts with three wins and three draws

Three wins and three draws were recorded on match day-one fixture in the EPL. Defending Champions Leicester City were defeated by Hull City in the first match. Middlesbrough, Everton and Southampton were all held at home by visiting teams .

The Premier League season got underway across England  as three wins and three draws were recorded on the opening day fixtures. Earlier in the day, Hull City got a deserved 2-1 victory over defending Champions, Leicester City at the Molineux with goals from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgras for the Tigers while Riyad Mahrez scored from a spot-kick. It ended 2-1 to Hull.


It was a goal a-piece a point a-piece between Tottenham and Everton at Goodison Park. Ross Barkley’s free-kick put the Toffees up but Erik Lamela’s glancing header canceled out Spurs deficit. It ended 1-1.


It was 1-1 at Saint Mary’s in the match involving Southampton and Watford. Capoe pounced on a Troy Deeney’s headed assist and Nathan Redmond pulled one back for the Saints as it ended 1-1.

A point was shared at the Rivers Side as Middlesbrough were held by visiting Stoke City to a 1-1 draw. New signing Alvaro Negredo got the first goal for Boro but Xhedan Shaqiri’s unstoppable free kick  even the scores. It ended 1-1.

Tony Pulis men were a goal better than Crystal palace as Solomon Rodon got the winner from a resulting set piece for West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park. It ended 1-0.

Leroy Fer’s goal was all Swansea needed to get an away win to Premier League newcomers Burnley as it ended 1-0 in favour of the Welsh team.

 In the last fixture of the day Pep Guardiola will be making his Premier League managerial debut as Manchester City welcome Sunderland to the Etihad.
