Monica Mares and her son Caleb Peterson says they are in love with each other
A 36-year-old woman, Monica Mares, and her 19-year-old son, Caleb Peterson, have told everyone who cared to listen that they are ‘madly in love’ and nothing can tear them apart.
Although both of them have been ordered to stay away from each other by the court, this does not seem to be working. They are going to be standing trial on incest charges later this year in Clovis, in the US state of New Mexico. If found guilty, they could be sent to prison for up to 18 months.

MetroUk reports that even with all these, the odd couple have decided to go public with their affair in order to raise awareness of Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) and make it legal for them to have a sexual relationship.
Mares, who is now a mother of nine, was said to have given birth to Caleb at age 16 and then gave him up for adoption afterwards. Mother and daughter somehow met again last Christmas after getting acquainted on Facebook. He moved in with her and that was how the ‘love feelings’ started.

‘I never had anyone cook me meals or give me anything. I never got anything my entire life and she went out of her way to make me happy. After about a week or so I started having feelings for her, and I guess I fell in love, ’ Caleb told the Daily Mail.
When interviewed, Mares said she does not mind giving up the right to see her other children just to be with Caleb. ‘The first time we were physical we ended up holding hands, and then we ended up kissing – and the kissing led to other things. I felt comfortable with him and we fell even more deeply in love,’ Marie said.

But Mares says she’s afraid to go out because people in her town know about the relationship, threaten her and call her names. Caleb’s personal life has suffered too. Since the affair became public, his dad walked out on him. They were interviewed separately and the closing line from the teenager was: ‘If I could speak to her now, I would say to her: “I love you and I miss you and I can’t wait to see you again”. Lobatan!
